Predators 7, Blackhawks 2: Rookie Marek Mazanec made 39 saves for his first NHL victory and Nashville beat Chicago. Craig Smith scored a goal and added two assists for the Predators. Nashville ended a four-game losing streak.
Oilers 4, Flames 2: David Perron scored the go-ahead goal midway through the third period then added his second of the game into an empty net and Edmonton rallied from a 2-0 third-period deficit to beat host Calgary.
Islanders 5, Red Wings 4: Kevin Poulin stopped all three Detroit skaters in the shootout after coming on in relief, and the Islanders outlasted the reeling Red Wings. Detroit has lost six straight and five in a row after regulation -- the past three in shootouts. Poulin made 19 saves in relief of starter Evgeni Nabokov, who left in the first period with a groin injury.
Maple Leafs 4, Sabres 2: James van Riemsdyk scored twice, Nikolai Kulemin got the winner and Toronto snapped a three-game skid with a win over Buffalo. Earlier in the day, Toronto acquired Peter Holland and Brad Staubitz from the Anaheim Ducks in exchange for defenseman Jesse Blacker and a conditional third-round draft pick.
Coyotes 6, Lightning 3: Martin Hanzal had a goal and three assists as Phoenix defeated Tampa Bay.
Blues 4, Hurricanes 2: Alexander Steen scored his league-leading 17th goal and also added an assist to lead St. Louis to a win against Carolina.
Devils 4, Penguins 1: Jaromir Jagr scored two goals to lead New Jersey past Pittsburgh. Andy Greene and Adam Larsson also scored for New Jersey.
Rangers 1, Canadiens 0: Ryan Callahan ended New York's four-year-old goal drought in Montreal and rookie Cam Talbot made 22 saves for his first NHL shutout and the Rangers blanked the Canadiens. Callahan scored his sixth goal of the season for New York
