PHS basketball to hold skills clinic

Piedmont High girls basketball team will hold a youth skills clinic from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Nov. 12 at Binks Rawlings gymnasium at the high school at 800 Magnolia Ave., Piedmont.

Piedmont High basketball coaches and athletes will give tips on improving your game. Participants will get a pizza lunch after the clinic.

The fee of $55 must be received by Nov. 10. Send checks to the Thompson family, 124 Moraga Ave., Piedmont, CA 94611.

'Best of Broadway' theater class offered

Children can learn to shine onstage at Piedmont Recreation Department's "Best of Broadway" musical theater class.

Led by theater professionals, children will learn solo and ensemble songs and choreography, culminating in performances in February. They will perform musical numbers from award-winning shows such as "A Chorus Line" and "Wicked."

Classes cost $200 per student and run beginning Nov. 8 through Feb. 7, 2013.

Parents will be asked to help with costumes, sets and makeup. Students must commit to attend all rehearsals and performances.

Friday is last day for baseball sign-ups

Friday is the last day for Piedmont youth to sign up for spring baseball.The league features five age groups of players, from 5-6 years old through 13-14 years old. Fees range from $260 to $375 for older players.

There is a parent information night from 7:30 to 9 p.m. on Nov. 8 at Ellen Driscoll Theater on the Havens school campus.
