The Piedmont Educational Foundation has created a new publication to help keep residents updated on the Piedmont Unified School District's instructional program, facilities and budget, as well as school board goals and commitments. The Spotlight is due to arrive in the mailboxes of homeowners sometime next week.

"As part of PEF's mission to promote academic excellence, champion innovation, and provide sustained financial support to our public schools, we see The Spotlight as a tool to help keep the community informed and engaged with the Piedmont schools," said PEF President Nancy McHugh.

The PEF board and Spotlight staff collaborated with school board President Rick Raushenbush and PUSD Superintendent Constance Hubbard in developing the publication, honing in on key messages and helping to highlight student learning and activities, teaching and the board's goals for the future. Local graphic designer Kristen Malan worked closely with other publication staff on its design.

"The high-quality education our children receive is only possible with the support of the community, and The Spotlight lets them know how that translates to the educational experience," Raushenbush said.
