PLEASANTON -- A celebration of the celebrations that make us human is on display now at the Museum on Main.
Until Jan. 5, the museum will displayits latest temporary exhibit, "Celebrations: The Days We Mark and the Ways We Mark Them."
It will take visitors on a tour of the world's special occasions from civic and religious holidays to major public events and personal transitions.
The exhibit features classic wedding dresses, Holy Ghost Parade regalia, Chinese New Year décor, Rosh Hashanah shofars, a 1920s Santa Claus suit and a 19th century goose-feather Christmas tree.
Museum on Main is at 603 Main St. Hours are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday, and 1-4 p.m. on Sundays. Admission is free, but donations are accepted.
