SAN FRANCISCO -- The latest vote tally shows only 20 votes separate a pair of San Francisco supervisor candidates.

The close District 7 race showed on Sunday that school board president Norman Yee was slightly ahead of labor leader F.X. Crowley.

The San Francisco Chronicle ( ) says about 3,000 ballots are uncounted in the race to replace termed-out Supervisor Sean Elsbernd.

District 7 stretches from the Twin Peaks area to the San Francisco Zoo.

Election officials are now hand-inspecting provisional ballots.

Final results could be announced on Tuesday.
