FRIDAY, FEB. 22

  • DUI -- At 5 p.m., a Hayward woman, 30, was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol after police found her asleep behind the wheel of a car that was stopped in the middle of the road near Lincoln and San Pablo avenues. Her reportedly highly intoxicated passenger also was arrested. She was in possession of pepper spray and had a prior felony conviction. A San Ramon female motorist, 50, was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol near San Pablo and Van Fleet avenues.

  • STOLEN AUTO -- The driver of a reported stolen vehicle was arrested after officers, including the California Highway Patrol Air Unit and the San Pablo Police, caught up with the Richmond man, 21, as he was fleeing on foot near Eastshore Boulevard and Potrero Avenue. Just prior, the stolen car had collided with another vehicle on Interstate 80, after police had discovered it had been stolen and were trying to pull him over.

  • THEFT FROM RESIDENCE -- Someone entered a home in the 8700 block of Terrace Drive through an unlocked window and stole an undisclosed amount of personal property.

  • DUI -- Police arrested two motorists for driving under the influence of alcohol, including a Vallejo man, 20, near Carlson Boulevard and Sutter Avenue and a Richmond man, 33, in the 5900 block of Cutting Boulevard.

  • THEFT FROM AUTO -- The passenger window of a vehicle in the 11300 block of San Pablo Avenue was shattered to steal property that was later recovered in another vehicle that had fled from police. Officers had attempted a traffic enforcement stop near El Dorado and San Pablo avenues, but the driver sped off onto 1-80 westbound to I-580, eastbound. The driver then rear-ended a vehicle at the foot of the Harrison Avenue off-ramp. Occupants fled on foot and eluded arrest. In a separate incident, an iPod and a knife were taken from an unlocked Toyota Prius in the 7600 block of Lewiston Avenue.

    SUNDAY, FEB. 24

  • DRUGS AND DUI -- At 8 a.m. a San Pablo man, 42, was reportedly found in possession of drugs, was suspected to be under the influence of a controlled substance, and was driving with a suspended license after a traffic enforcement stop at Carlson Boulevard and San Pablo Avenue.

  • PAROLEE ARREST -- A San Pablo man, 44, was arrested after police contacted him inside of a white Ford Windstar van in the 5300 block of Carlson Boulevard. He was a stolen vehicle parolee at large. Police had responded initially to a call of a possible auto burglary when they encountered the suspect.

  • DUI -- Police arrested an El Cerrito man, 24, for being under the influence of alcohol while behind the wheel after officers found him asleep in his car at Kearney Street and Moeser Lane. A Richmond man, 44, was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol after officers observed him driving in the opposite direction of where police were directing drivers to travel.

  • THEFT FROM AUTO -- A purse and camcorder were stolen from a 2008 Lexus RX330 in the lot at Walgreen's after a window was smashed.

  • THEFT FROM RESIDENCE -- Someone kicked open a rear door of a home in the 2600 block of Ellerhorst Street and stole undisclosed property.

    MONDAY, FEB. 25

  • THEFT -- Cash was stolen from a purse a woman left at Trader Joe's in El Cerrito Plaza.

  • THEFT FROM AUTO -- It was reported that two vehicles were broken into at El Cerrito Plaza, including an incident that happened a few days prior where the culprit smashed the right front window of a Honda and stole a laptop bag. Most of its contents were found in the creek area and returned to the owner. A rear window of a Hyundai was broken and a backpack stolen. The backpack was found in a nearby parking stall minus a few items.

  • THEFT FROM RESIDENCE -- Two people tried to break into a home in the 6600 block of Lincoln Avenue but were scared off by the resident. Someone pried open a window of a home in the 8200 block of Terrace Drive and stole a laptop and jewelry.

  • ATTEMPTED THEFT -- Someone tried to pry open the rear door of a residence in the 1700 block of Wesley Avenue.

  • PARAPHERNALIA -- A Richmond resident, 35, was cited for reported possession of drug paraphernalia in the 6100 block of Potrero Avenue.

  • SHOPLIFTING -- Police arrested an Oakland man, 49, with extensive prior related convictions after store security saw him shoplifting at Safeway in the 11400 block of San Pablo Avenue.

    WEDNESDAY, FEB. 27

  • DUI -- Police arrested a Berkeley resident, 30, on suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol near San Pablo Avenue and Schmidt Lane.

  • THEFT FROM RESIDENCE -- At 7:10 a.m., a resident of a home in the 1000 block of Arlington Boulevard three men loading her property into a light-colored Honda and then driving away. Just prior, they had forced entry into her home during a 10-minute span she had been away.

  • WEAPON -- Police arrested a Richmond man, 27, for possession of metal knuckles during a traffic enforcement stop at Cutting Boulevard and South 50th Street.

    THURSDAY, FEB. 28

  • BURGLARY -- At 10:15 p.m., police responded to a call that two people were in the garage and basement area of a home in the 1300 block of Lawrence Street. Officers spotted them in a car leaving the scene and detained them, finding several items stolen from the home and arresting a Rio Vista man, 49, and a Richmond man, 52.

  • TOOLS -- Three young men, including two, ages 13 and 21, from Oakland and a 21-year-old from Hayward, were arrested for suspected possession of burglary tools in the 400 block of Kearney Street.
