HAYWARD -- The commute was sluggish Thursday morning on a few south Alameda County roadways, including Mission Boulevard, according to the California Highway Patrol.
All lanes of Mission were closed to traffic after a utility pole fell just before 2:45 a.m. at Rose Street in North Hayward, said Officer Ron Simmons. The road was shut down until about 8:45 a.m. until PG&E workers and Alameda County crews could clear the pole from the roadway, Simmons said.
Traffic was also shut down along the Interstate 880 southbound onramp at Marina Boulevard in San Leandro, according to the CHP.
Crews were working to reopen the ramp an overturned big rig that flipped just before 5:50 a.m.
Tow trucks were on scene as of 7:45 a.m. and there was no estimate to how long the ramp would be closed.
No injuries were reported in either incident, Simmons said.
