Hue Jackson learned what he suspected would be the case Monday when the Raiders' offensive coordinator was promoted to head coach.

Jackson, 45, succeeds Tom Cable, as the Raiders decided not to extend his contract.

The Raiders announced Jackson would be introduced at a press conference Tuesday.

It's a job Jackson seemed destined for after he arrived a year ago, taking control of a Raiders offense ranked No. 31 in the NFL. Under Jackson, the Raiders surged to 10th in total offense.
