Checking out the '12 free agent crop
How some key Raiders' free agent additions are faring through seven practices of training camp:
Right guard Mike Brisiel: Penciled in as the starting right guard and the player most familiar with the new zone blocking scheme. Defensive end/tackle Dave Tollefson: His versatility and toughness will make him a regular in the defensive line rotation. Cornerback Ron Bartell: Began to work without pads Monday for the first time and expected to be full-go Wednesday. Cornerback Shawntae Spencer: Has had his struggled but made a nice sideline deflection of a Carson Palmer pass while defending rookie Rod Streater. Strong side linebacker Philip Wheeler: Sure starter has made eye-opening plays on pass defense each of the last two days and is an exceptional athlete. Quarterback Matt Leinart: Competition to be backup to Carson Palmer not a competition at all. Leinart is an easy call over Terrelle Pryor. Running back Mike Goodson: Raced for big yardage during live drill with a Leinart pass, one of the most impressive newcomers in camp.
