NAPA -- Andre Gurode, a five-time Pro Bowl offensive lineman who worked out for the Raiders following their first training camp practice, was signed to a contract Friday, the club announced.
Gurode was a center with the Dallas Cowboys who converted to guard in 2011 with the Baltimore Ravens. Gurode, 34, was with the Chicago Bears last season but did not see action.
He was named to the Pro Bowl as a member of the Dallas Cowboys from 2006 through 2010 before joining Baltimore in 2011.
The Raiders are thin in terms of depth at guard, where Lucas Nix opened with the first team Friday at left guard, backed up by Tony Bergstrom, and Mike Brisiel returning as the right guard. Jason Foster, a first-year player out of Rhode Island who as cut by the Indianapolis Colts last season, was the backup right guard Friday.
