How the Raiders 53-man roster breaks down:
Many NFL teams are going with two quarterbacks and the Raiders have four. McGloin moved ahead of Wilson, and the Raiders were wary of cutting a fourth-round draft pick.
McFadden played sparingly in the preseason, and Jennings was far and away the most consistent runner. Stewart gets the nod with Latavius Murray on injured reserve. Reece is the Raiders most versatile back while Olawale has special teams value and is strong blocker.
No real surprises here.
Mastrud beats out Richard Gordon for the starting role unless Ausberry is healthy in time for the opener. Rookies Rivera and Kasa are the safest here because the Raiders will be looking hard at the waiver wire for a veteran or two.
The Raiders will be looking to add a lineman or two. Chances are Jared Veldheer goes on injured reserve/designated to return on Tuesday, meaning he misses seven weeks. That will open up a roster spot. Losing Tony Bergstrom to injured reserve has the Raiders looking hard at guards.
The surprise was the rise of Robinson, who did some good things rushing the passer and makes the club for now as an undrafted free agent.
Oh, brothers. Kevin and Kaelin Burnett are both on the 53-man roster.
Jones makes the roster as a cornerback after being a running back for two years, but his real value is on special teams where he excels in kick coverage.
Comment: Two punters? Chances are the Raiders are looking to trade Kluwe or King.
