ALAMEDA -- Rather than add a third quarterback, the Raiders signed veteran defensive tackle Daniel Muir to their 53-man, active roster Wednesday.

This comes on the heels of the Raiders working out 13 players Tuesday, with none of those being Muir. Three of the 13 players worked out are quarterbacks -- David Carr, Trent Edwards and Pat White.

It seemed logical that the Raiders would use the roster spot on a quarterback after they released veteran quarterback Matt Flynn on Monday.

For now, though, the Raiders are moving forward with Terrelle Pryor and undrafted rookie Matt McGloin as the only quarterbacks on their active roster. Rookie quarterback Tyler Wilson is on the team's practice squad.

Muir, 30, played in 46 games for the Green Bay Packers, Indianapolis Colts and New York Jets during his first six NFL seasons. He started 26 of those games.

The Raiders also re-signed offensive tackle Jack Cornell and placed him on their practice squad.
