ALAMEDA -- Raiders defensive coordinator Jason Tarver, caught on camera giving NFL officials an obscene gesture, gave the following statement Monday:
``I apologize for my action on the sideline of yesterday's game. It was in the heat of the moment and I regret drawing attention away from the Raiders players and what they accomplished.''
On the play, officials originally threw a flag on cornerback Mike Jenkins for a blow to the head. The flag was then picked up, and there was no penalty on the play.
The Raiders beat the Pittsburgh Steelers 21-18.
