CONCORD -- The local chapter of the California Apartment Association is holding a workshop on bedbugs for tenants and property owners.
The meeting is 3 to 5 p.m. Monday at Concord City Hall, 1950 Parkside Dr. A panel of experts will discuss topics including background on the resurgence of bedbugs, prevention tips, obligations of tenants and landlords and legal responsibilities.
According to Tenants Together, a statewide renters' rights organization, several apartment buildings in the Monument Corridor are infested with bedbugs. In a lawsuit filed in Contra Costa County Superior Court last month, Tenants Together alleges that the owners of a 48-unit building on Monument Boulevard have refused to do anything about the bedbug problem.
