There will be another La Russa working outside the white lines at the Oakland Coliseum beginning later this summer, provided the NFL and its players get back to work.
Bianca La Russa, daughter of former A's and current St. Louis Cardinals manager Tony La Russa, is a new member of the Oakland Raiderettes cheerleading squad.
"A goal and a dream come true. I'm a 2011 Raiderette! I'm so excited to rep an organization that does so much good," she said via Twitter.
The Raiders moved back to Oakland from Los Angeles in 1995, which was Tony's 10th and final season as the A's manager. He led Oakland to three straight World Series appearances, including winning a World Series title in 1989 by sweeping the Giants.
The La Russas still maintain a residence in Alamo, despite Tony working the past 16 years in St. Louis with the Cardinals. The family also runs the Animal Rescue Foundation (ARF) in Walnut Creek.
