Astros 3, Cubs 0: Houston's Lucas Harrell tossed six shutout innings as Chicago lost its 100th game of the season. Astros pitchers allowed two hits and Fernando Martinez homered for the second consecutive game.
Cardinals 4, Reds 2: St. Louis clinched at least a tie for the second wild card as Jaime Garcia homered and pitched into the seventh inning. The Cardinals have won 11 of their past 14 games.
Phillies 2, Nationals 0: Darin Ruf tripled in two runs in the second inning and Kyle Kendrick and three relievers blanked Washington.
Marlins 3, Mets 2: Rob Brantly broke a tie with his RBI double in the eighth to boost Miami. It was only the Marlins' second win in their past 11 games.
