Greg Hind, a three-time All-American water polo player at San Jose State, died last week in San Luis Obispo after a short illness. He was 66.

Hind, a member of the San Jose State Sports Hall of Fame, was a well-known businessman philanthropist and environmentalist in San Luis Obispo. He played water polo at Awalt High School (now Mountain View high) and won a gold medal at the 1967 Pan American Games.

Hind developed protective earflaps on water polo caps after suffering a broken eardrum.
