Saint Mary's women's basketball coach Paul Thomas announced the signing Tuesday of Heritage High center Sabrina Engelstad to a letter of intent.

Engelstad, listed at 6-foot-3, is the all-time leader in blocked shots and was the team's leading scorer and rebounder during the 2011-12 season. She made All-Bay Valley Athletic League in each of her three varsity seasons.

Engelstad joins Alia McCoy (Canyon Country-Canyon) as SMC's first two signees for the 2013-14 season.

College football

The Kraft Fight Hunger Bowl, which has been played at AT&T Park in San Francisco since 2002, will move to the new 49ers stadium in Santa Clara after it opens in 2014.

The bowl pits an at-large team against a team from the Pac-12. This year's game will be played Dec. 29 and features Navy against an opponent to be determined.

Pro hockey

The San Francisco Bulls of the ECHL used third period goals from Sacha Guimond and Dylan King to defeat the host Bakersfield Condors. The win was the Bulls' second in a row and third in four games.

College golf

Stanford sophomore Patrick Rodgers, competing against 22 of the best collegiate golfers in the nation, tied for 12th at the Western Refining Sun Bowl All-American Golf Classic in El Paso, Texas. Rodgers finished eight shots behind UNLV's Kevin Penner.

Rodgers carded rounds of 70-69-68 (207) at the 54-hole event.
