THE STAT LINE: Sommerhauser scored a combined 50 points in East Bay Athletic League wins over San Ramon Valley and Foothill. He scored 32 against San Ramon Valley with four assists, and had 18 points and five assists against Foothill.

THE STAT LINE: Romeo totaled 98 points and 27 steals in four games to lead the Cougars to second place in the Platinum Division of the West Coast Jamboree. She then scored 38 points with 13 steals, nine rebounds and six assists in wins over Foothill and Amador Valley to kick off EBAL play.

THE STAT LINE: Washington, Skyline's leading scorer and rebounder this season, had a combined 45 points, 26 rebounds and 11 blocks in nonleague games against Lincoln-San Francisco and Vanden-Fairfield.

NOEL BRIONES, Mt. Eden, basketball, Sr. -- Briones produced a game-high 22 points, including nine in the fourth quarter, as the Monarchs defeated Castro Valley 53-47 in their opening West Alameda County Conference-Foothill Division game.
JACOB NELSON, Foothill, wrestling, Jr. -- Nelson captured the 145-pound weight class at the 30th Valley of the Moon tournament, which the Falcons won, at Sonoma Valley High. During the two-day tournament, he won four matches by pinfall and upped his season record to 18-5.
GIRLS
JACQUELYN SCHARFF, College Park, soccer, So. -- Scharff helped the Falcons go unbeaten at the Tri-Valley Classic with a pair of goals, then added another score in a 3-0 league win over Ygnacio Valley. She leads College Park with 13 total goals in 15 games.
LAUREN SEYRANIAN, Piedmont, basketball, Jr. -- Seyranian scored a game-high 28 points, including a trio of 3-pointers, in the Highlanders' 62-54 victory over Alameda.
