One room at Lucile Packard Children's Hospital in Palo Alto is definitely 49ers territory.
Jacob Murphy, 7, of Rio Linda, has been suffering with heart problems since birth and has been an inpatient at the hospital's Children's Heart Center for the past few weeks, according to his family.
The second-grader is keeping his spirits up and the die-hard fan has decorated his room with 49ers fan gear.
"It's helped out a lot; the game is his passion and his love," said Jacob's mother Rebecca Johnson on Wednesday. Jacob hopes to someday be part of professional football, she said.
Jacob will be watching his favorite team go up against the Baltimore Ravens at the Super Bowl on Sunday with his family in his hospital room.
