President Obama picked second-seeded Cal as one of his four schools to reach the women's Final Four, ESPN reported Tuesday night.
Cal, which opens the tournament Saturday in Lubbock, Texas, against Fresno State, is in the Spokane regional with top-seeded Stanford (31-2). The schools are headed toward a highly anticipated showdown April 1 in the Elite Eight with the winner earning a trip to New Orleans.
The Bears (28-3) tied the Cardinal for the Pac-12 regular season title after the Bay Area rivals spit their two-game series in January.
