THE STAT LINE: In the Dons' two wins to open the East Bay Athletic League season, Jackson hit a two-run home run in the bottom of the third inning to break a 1-1 tie in a 3-2 victory over De La Salle and also had a two-run triple in a 5-0 win over Livermore.

THE STAT LINE: Moore won the triple jump at the Stanford Invitational with a wind-legal leap of 48 feet, 111/2 inches. Entering this week, that mark ranked No. 1 in the nation for the event, according to dyestat.com. Moore was also third in the long jump with a wind-legal mark of 23-23/4.
THE STAT LINE: Monopoli led the Dons to victories over Antioch and Tamalpais by going 3 for 7 with three runs, three stolen bases and a home run. Monopoli's biggest hit was a solo homer in the bottom of the seventh inning to tie the score in the Dons' comeback win over Tamalpais.

POSITION: Center fielder
THE STAT LINE: Strong went 3 for 4, including two triples, scored two runs and drove in two runs in a 10-5 Cougars victory over Moreau Catholic. Strong also had three hits, including a double, two runs scored and an RBI in a 7-4 victory over Irvington.
EUGENE HAMILTON III, Bishop O'Dowd, track and field, Sr. -- Hamilton had the fastest time in the boys mile at the Stanford Invitational by more than 3.5 seconds, finishing in 4 minutes, 12.74 seconds. That time ranks first in the state and third in the nation for the event, according to dyestat.com.
KEVIN WILDES, College Park, baseball, Sr. -- The first baseman was 5 for 6 in the Falcons' two wins over Concord to begin the Diablo Valley Athletic League season. Overall, he had a double, three RBIs and a stolen base. In an 8-5 nonleague win over Vacaville, Wildes was 2 for 4 with a triple and a run scored.
CHRISTINA CHENAULT, Carondelet, track and field, So. -- Chenault won the 400 meters at the Stanford Invitational with a time of 56.34 seconds. She was also fifth in the triple jump with a mark of 37 feet, 81/2 inches.
SYDNEY SHIPLEY, Pinole Valley, softball, Sr. -- Shipley had a one-hitter with 12 strikeouts in the Spartans' 2-0 nonleague victory over Rodriguez-Fairfield and also pitched a six-hitter with 10 strikeouts in a 2-1 win over Salesian in a Tri-County Athletic League game.
