SANTA CLARA — Andre Davis, the older brother of 49ers right tackle Anthony Davis, will participate in the 49ers' rookie minicamp next week on a tryout basis.

Davis' audition was confirmed by his and his brother's agent, Drew Rosenhaus. Also expected to try out at the 49ers' rookie camp is Joe Montana's oldest son, Nate, a quarterback.

Andre Davis, 26, is three years older than his brother who's started every game at right tackle since the 49ers selected him in the first round of the 2010 draft. The 49ers rewarded Anthony Davis with a five-year, $37 million extension earlier this month.

Andre Davis (6-foot-5, 295 pounds) played the past two seasons as a defensive end at NAIA Kentucky Christian. With six tackles for loss among his 22 tackles, he made honorable mention for the All Mid-South Conference East Division.

"People are saying I'm just playing for my brother, or that my brother is going to get me drafted," Andre Davis told the Newark Star-Ledger last month. "At the end of the day, my brother doesn't have control over any of that. It's all what I do."

A former star center at St. Patrick High School(Elizabeth, N.J.), Andre Davis was listed as a tight end at Long Island University in 2008 and 2009.

The 49ers haven't released the names yet of any undrafted players they've signed, a list that is believed to include: defensive lineman Lawrence Okoye (British discus thrower), center Sherman Carter (Tennessee State), fullback Alex Debniak (Stanford), quarterback/tight end MarQueis Gray (Minnesota), running back D.J. Harper (Boise State), wide receiver Chuck Jacobs (Utah State), long snapper Kevin McDermott (UCLA), offensive tackle Luke Marquardt (Azusa Pacific), cornerback Darryl Morris (Texas State), offensive lineman Patrick Omameh (Michigan) and defensive tackle Mike Purcell (Wyoming).

The 49ers announced which initial numbers were designated for their newest players, including veteran cornerback Nnamdi Asomugha, who will temporarily share No. 24 with running back Anthony Dixon.

Jersey numbers for the 11-man draft class are: safety Eric Reid (35), defensive end Tank Carradine (95), tight end Vance McDonald (89), linebacker Corey Lemonier (96), wide receiver Quinton Patton (11), running back Marcus Lattimore (38), defensive tackle Quinton Dial (71), linebacker Nick Moody (54), quarterback B.J.
