THE STAT LINE: Horst fired a one-hitter with four strikeouts and two walks and also had a hit and scored the game's only run in a 1-0 victory over San Leandro in the West Alameda County Conference-Shoreline League championship game.

Jackson Miller

YEAR: Senior

EVENTS: 200 freestyle, 500 freestyle

THE STAT LINE: Miller's final North Coast Section meet ended with two meet records and a first-place finish in the 200 freestyle relay. He won both his individual events, the 200- and 500-yard freestyle, in NCS record times of 1:35.86 and 4:23.85, respectively. He anchored the winning relay team.

Chelsea Chenault

SCHOOL: Carondelet

SPORT: Swimming

YEAR: Senior

EVENTS: 200 freestyle, 500 freestyle

THE STAT LINE: Chenault swept both her individual events, the 200- and 500-yard freestyle, and helped Carondelet set a national high school record in the 400-yard freestyle relay at the North Coast Section Championships. Her leadoff leg to the relay set a NCS record in the 100 freestyle (49.27 seconds). She set another meet record in the 200 freestyle (1:44.45).

Ariel Cheng

SCHOOL: Mission San Jose

SPORT: Track and field

YEAR: Senior

EVENT: Pole vault

THE STAT LINE: Cheng set an NCS Bay Shore Area Championship and personal record when she cleared 12 feet, 2 inches in the pole vault. The mark leads the NCS by eight inches according to PrepCalTrack.com.

MAX GOLDSTEIN, St. Mary's, baseball, Jr. -- Goldstein was 2 for 4 with a run and three RBIs in the Panthers' 5-1 victory over Pinole Valley in the Tri-County Athletic League tournament championship game. He also drove in two runs in an 8-0 semifinal win over El Cerrito.

TANNER HUGHES, Foothill, golf, Jr. -- Hughes shot a 4-under 68 at Rooster Run Golf Course in Petaluma, leading the Falcons to their fourth straight North Coast Section Division I Tournament of Champions team title.

GIRLS

MIANNI BROWN, Newark Memorial, track and field, Sr. -- Brown set a personal and NCS best in the girls 400 meters (55.58 seconds), which is ranked 10th in the state at press time according to PrepCalTrack.com.

TYRA LASSAIR, Pittsburg, track and field, Jr. -- Lassair remained unbeaten in the postseason by sweeping the shot put and discus at the North Coast Section Tri-Valley Area Championships with a personal best of 128 feet, 7 inches in the discus and 38-10 in the shot put.
