Stanford's Eddie Penev, who graduated this year as a nine-time All-American, was named to the senior national gymnastics team Sunday after winning the still rings at the P&G Gymnastics Championships in Hartford, Conn.
Cardinal junior Sean Senters won the vault. Former Stanford star Josh Dixon of San Jose was 10th in the all-around, and Stanford senior Chris Turner was fourth on the pommel horse, followed by Cal alum Donothan Bailey. Dixon also was added to the senior national team.
Sam Mikulak, a two-time NCAA all-around champion and 2012 Olympian, won the men's all-around by nearly three points Sunday after the second of competition at the XL Center. Alexander Naddour of Gilbert, Ariz., was second while Olympian Jake Dalton of Reno was third.
