Free-agent quarterback Matt Leinart signed with the Buffalo Bills on Sunday.
Terms of the deal weren't disclosed.
Leinart, a backup with the Raiders last season, fills an immediate need at Buffalo's injury-depleted quarterback position. The Bills later added quarterback Thaddeus Lewis in a trade that sent linebacker Chris White to Detroit. Undrafted rookie Jeff Tuel also is on the roster.
Kevin Kolb left the Bills' game Saturday against Washington because of concussionlike symptoms, and first-round pick EJ Manuel is out for the rest of the exhibition season with a left knee injury.
Giants: New York free safety Stevie Brown will miss the regular season with a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee that he hurt in Saturday's exhibition overtime loss to the Jets.
Brown, a former Raider who led the Giants with eight interceptions last season, was placed on injured reserve.
Also, former Raiders linebacker Aaron Curry was among 14 players waived.
Saints 31, Texans 23: Houston's Andre Johnson had 131 yards receiving before halftime in his first extended work of the exhibition season, and New Orleans' backups scored two touchdowns in the second half to help the Saints rally for a victory.
Matt Schaub threw for 213 yards for Houston (2-1), and Ben Tate had 74 yards rushing and a score filling in for Arian Foster.
Drew Brees threw for 104 yards and a touchdown for New Orleans (3-0) before sitting out after the team's third possession. Saints rookie Kenny Stills had 54 yards receiving and a touchdown.
Jets: Quarterback Mark Sanchez is "day-to-day" with an injured right shoulder that will sideline him for the team's exhibition finale against the Philadelphia Eagles on Thursday.
The team did not announce the nature or severity of Sanchez's injury, suffered in the Jets' 24-21 overtime victory over the New York Giants on Saturday night.
Colts: Starting left tackle Anthony Castonzo has a mild right knee sprain, but coach Chuck Pagano said he hopes Castonzo and right guard Mike McGlynn (bruised knee) will be ready for the Sept. 8 opener against the Raiders.
Packers: Green Bay released incumbent No. 2 quarterback Graham Harrell, making it likely that Vince Young will open the season as Aaron Rodgers' backup.
Also, the Packers signed kicker Zach Ramirez to compete with Mason Crosby and Giorgio Tavecchio.
Steelers: Rookie linebacker Jarvis Jones has been released from the hospital after being treated for a chest injury.
Jones was hurt when he fell on the ball at the end of a third-quarter interception that was overturned against Kansas City.
Etc.: Former Tennessee Titans linebacker Keith Bulluck has been charged with felony robbery after a cabdriver accused him of taking money during an argument.
In a statement to The Tennessean, Bulluck described the incident as a "misunderstanding between me and the cabdriver about getting my money back for a service not rendered."
