The course: 2.5 miles, 12 turns.
Notes: The FIA World Touring Car Championship makes its return to Sonoma Raceway. Last year's event marked the U.S. debut for the series. This is the first race after the one-month summer break. Yvan Muller of France has been dominant this season in his Chevrolet Cruze 1.6T with six victories and 11 podiums. He leads the standings by 132 points over Michel Nykjaer. Honda is closing in on the manufacturer's title in its first year in the WTCC. Cars that are driven in the series are the Honda Civic, Chevy Cruze 1.6T, Ford Focus S2000, BMW 320 TC and SEAT Leon. The WTCC will use Sonoma's full 2.5-mile road course.
Saturday: Practice 1, 9 a.m. Practice 2, 11 a.m. Qualifying 1, 2 p.m. Qualifying 2, 2:25 p.m.
Sunday: Warm-up, 8:30 a.m. Race 1 (13 laps, rolling start), 11:25 p.m. Race 2 (13 laps, standing start), 2:20 p.m.
U.S. Touring Car Championship: Qualifying, 11:45 a.m. Saturday. Race 1 (30 minutes), 1:10 p.m. Saturday. Warm-up, 8 a.m. Sunday. Race 2 (45 minutes), 3:15 p.m. Sunday.
Pirelli GT3 Porsche Cup: Warm-up, 8:30 a.m. Saturday. Qualifying, 10:15 a.m. Saturday. Race 1 (40 minutes), 3:10 p.m. Saturday. Warm-up, 9 a.m. Sunday. Qualifying, 10 a.m. Sunday. Race 2 (45 minutes), 4:45 p.m. Sunday.
