The Cal men's soccer team is ranked No. 1 in two prestigious polls for the first time in school history after sweeping Colgate and College of Charleston last weekend.
The Bears (5-0-1) topped the polls Tuesday for Soccer America and TopDrawerSoccer.com. Cal also is ranked second to North Carolina in the coaches' poll, which is widely acknowledged as the most important ranking.
"For our administration, alumni and soccer community, this is a fantastic moment," Cal coach Kevin Grimes said in a statement. "We understand that rankings will have an ebb and flow to them throughout a season."
Leander shot the team's low score of the day with a 75 and is tied for 18th overall at 154. Reali shot a 76 and Megan Osland shot an 80. They are tied at 31st. Alexandra Kristofersson shot an 81 and is 60th.
