Fans attending Super Bowl XLVIII can leave the grill and the folding chairs at home.
Tailgating will not be allowed at the NFL championship game Feb. 2 at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, N.J.
Fans will be allowed to have food and drinks in their car, Alfred F. Kelly Jr., president of the Super Bowl committee, said at a news conference, ESPN reported.
But, he added, "You're not going to be able to take out a lounge chair, you're not going to be able to take out a grill and you're not going to be able to take up more than one parking space."
MetLife Stadium will have fewer than 13,000 parking spots available, according to ESPN.
Most fans will have to rely on public transportation because walking to the stadium or entering by limousine or taxi will not be allowed.
