Washington and BYU will bring 12 players home to the Bay Area to play at AT&T Park in the Dec. 27 Fight Hunger Bowl. There are nine Huskies and three Cougars with local roots. Here are two of the most prominent:
Coach Marques Tuiasosopo on Peters: "Marcus Peters is on a path to being a big-time defensive back. He's tall, he's athletic, he's got that swagger you see all the great corners have. He's fast. He's got great ball skills so if there's an errant throw he can go intercept it. He's really close."
Coach Bronco Mendenhall on Daniel: "Robertson was very ill prior to the Notre Dame game. He doesn't play the first two series and we give up two touchdowns. He then ends up playing and they don't score another touchdown the rest of the game (Notre Dame won 23-13). He might be our most valuable player because of our lack of depth at that position."
