Penguins 4, Rangers 3: Brandon Sutter scored in the third period and added the only goal of the shootout to lift Pittsburgh over New York. It was the Penguins' fifth straight victory. Sidney Crosby had two assists to increase his NHL-leading points total to 49, and Marc-Andre Fleury stopped 29 shots. Pittsburgh played without Evgeni Malkin for a second straight game because of a leg injury. He also is expected to sit out against Minnesota on Thursday.
Devils 5, Senators 2: Jaromir Jagr scored his 693rd career goal, Reid Boucher netted his first in the NHL, and New Jersey beat Ottawa. Jagr, 41, moved past Steve Yzerman and into sole possession of eighth place on the NHL goals list, one behind Mark Messier for seventh.
Wild: Goalie Josh Harding was placed on injured reserve to allow him to make adjustments to the medication he takes to treat multiple sclerosis. The Wild made the announcement one day after Harding was superb in a shootout victory over Vancouver, making 29 saves. Harding will have to miss at least a week while on injured reserve. That means he will be out at least three games. Harding leads the NHL with a 1.51 goals-against average and .939 save percentage.
Blues: Forward Alexander Steen agreed to terms on a three-year, $17.4 million contract extension.
