Stanford guard David Yankey and linebacker Trent Murphy were named first team All-America by the Football Writers Association of America.
Yankey earned unanimous status, having been named to every major All-America team. The senior was a consensus selection last season at tackle.

Cal junior and Torrey Pines High alum Michael Kim turned pro and accepted a sponsor's exemption to the PGA Tour's Farmers Insurance Open at Torrey Pines on Jan. 23-26. "I'm excited to take the next step," Kim, 20, told the Union-Tribune San Diego. On Tuesday, he tied for 56th in the Web.com Tour's qualifying tournament in La Quinta, earning partial exempt status in 2014.
