CHRISTINE ALFTIN, WOODSIDE

Class: Senior. Position: Outside hitter.

Most valuable player in the Peninsula Athletic League Bay Division finished the season with 515 kills, averaging 5.7 per set for a team that went 13-1 in division play to win the championship by two games over Menlo-Atherton and Carlmont.

CARMEN ANNEVELINK, LOS ALTOS

Class: Junior. Position: Outside hitter.

Co-most valuable player in the SCVAL De Anza Division led Los Altos to the CCS and NorCal Division II title matches, averaging 5.1 kills per set. The 6-2 standout had a season-high 30 kills in a dramatic five-set loss to Archbishop Mitty in the CCS Division II final.

CASEY CARROLL, HOMESTEAD

Class: Senior. Position: Outside hitter.

Co-most valuable player in the SCVAL De Anza Division helped lead Homestead to the CCS Division I title. Carroll, who will play next year at Cal Poly-San Luis Obispo, averaged nearly four kills per set for a team that reached the semifinals of the NorCal playoffs.

KELSEY CRAWFORD, ARCHBISHOP MITTY

Class: Senior. Position: Setter.

A first-team All-WCAL selection, the Yale-bound Crawford finished the season with 1,000 assists, averaging 10 per set for the Division II state champions. She also had 233 digs and 109 kills as she ended her high school career with a second consecutive state crown.

MADDIE DILFER, VALLEY CHRISTIAN

Class: Senior. Position: Setter/right-side hitter.

Mercury News co-player of the year helped lead Valley Christian to the Division III state championship, averaging 4.9 assists per set. Dilfer, headed for Notre Dame, also contributed 366 digs and 265 kills.

KIRSTEN MEAD, VALLEY CHRISTIAN

Class: Senior. Position: Setter/right side.

Mercury News co-player of the year averaged five assists per set while helping Valley Christian win state and West Catholic Athletic League championships. Mead, bound for Santa Clara, also had 310 digs and 302 kills and was named WCAL player of the year.

CLARE POWERS, ARCHBISHOP MITTY

Class: Senior. Position: Outside hitter.

The first-team All-WCAL player helped propel Mitty to its 10th state championship, averaging nearly four kills per set. Powers, who will attend Saint Mary's, finished with 304 digs and overcame a late-season ankle injury.
