Islanders 3, Blackhawks 2: Kyle Okposo scored 58 seconds into overtime, and New York beat Chicago after blowing a two-goal lead. One day after not being chosen for the U.S. Olympic team, Okposo snapped a drive past goalie Corey Crawford. Evgeni Nabokov made 37 saves for the Islanders.

Blues 5, Kings 0: T.J. Oshie scored twice, and Brian Elliott made 30 saves to lead St. Louis over Los Angeles. The Blues have won four in a row, while the Kings lost their fifth successive game.

Blue Jackets 2, Coyotes 0: Nathan Horton scored in his Columbus debut, and Curtis McElhinney made 34 saves for the shutout. Horton, a $37 million offseason free-agent acquisition, missed the first 40 games after shoulder surgery.

Avalanche 2, Flyers 1: Semyon Varlamov stopped 29 shots, Ryan O'Reilly and Jamie McGinn had a goal each, and Colorado defeated Philadelphia.
