Aaron Gordon added 12 points for Arizona, which overcame a 3-for-15 night from 3-point range and missed free throws down the stretch to extend the best start in school history.
Colorado (15-5, 4-3) struggled in its third game without leading scorer Spencer Dinwiddie. The Buffaloes fell to 0-16 all-time against No. 1 teams.
Xavier Johnson led Colorado with 21 points, and Josh Scott added 15.
Arizona hit its first six shots, including one by Ashley that bounced off Scott and into the basket.
Florida 68, Alabama 62: Michael Frazier II scored 18 points and made five 3-pointers to lead the No. 6 Gators (16-2, 5-0 Southeastern Conference) to their 10th consecutive win. The Crimson Tide (8-10, 2-3) had its league-best 14-game SEC home winning streak snapped.
Ohio State 62, Illinois 55: LaQuinton Ross scored 18 points, and Lenzelle Smith Jr. had 16 -- including a critical 3-pointer in the waning moments -- to help the No. 17 Buckeyes end a four-game skid. Aaron Craft added 11 points, six rebounds and five assists for the Buckeyes (16-4, 3-4 Big Ten). Joseph Bertrand had 19 points for the Illini (13-7, 2-5).
Gonzaga 59, San Diego 56: Sam Dower Jr. scored 18 points, and Kevin Pangos made the game's final shot as the Bulldogs (17-3, 7-1 West Coast Conference) narrowly beat the Toreros (11-10, 2-6) for the 11th straight time. Johnny Dee scored 26 points for San Diego.
Portland 114, BYU 110: Thomas van der Mars scored 27 points, grabbed 18 rebounds and sparked the go-ahead run in triple overtime that lifted the Pilots (12-8, 4-4 WCC) over the Cougars (13-8, 5-3), despite 48 points from Tyler Haws.
Arizona State 79, Utah 75: Jahii Carson scored 23 points, eight in a decisive five-minute span late in the game, as the Sun Devils (14-5, 3-3 Pac-12) held on to beat the Utes. Dallin Bachynski led Utah (14-5, 3-4) with 16 points.
Washington 80, Oregon 76: C.J. Wilcox scored 23 points, including a 3-pointer with 43 seconds left, as the Huskies (12-8, 4-3 Pac-12) handed Ducks (13-5, 1-5) their fifth consecutive loss. Oregon trailed by seven points with 2:59 to play and cut the margin to 73-72 when Wilcox made his 3-pointer to seal the win and end the Huskies' two-game skid.
Michigan State: Junior forward Branden Dawson will be out four to five weeks after breaking his right hand when he banged it on a table while watching team video. Dawson said he was reviewing film of the third-ranked Spartans' win over Indiana with teammates and coach Tom Izzo and became angry with his play of late.
Dawson was scheduled for surgery Thursday night, and the Spartans (18-1, 7-0 Big Ten) will be without him for Saturday's home game against No. 21 Michigan (14-4, 6-0).
San Diego 79, Santa Clara 55: The host Toreros (16-3, 6-2 WCC) started the second half with a 12-0 run to spark the rout against the Broncos (7-12, 3-5). Jo Paine led Santa Clara with 13 points.
BYU 81, USF 47: Zhane Dikes scored 13 points for the Dons (7-12, 2-6 WCC), but they shot a season-low 21.3 percent from the field at Provo, Utah.
Jennifer Hamson led the Cougars (15-4, 5-2) with 14 points and 17 rebounds. She also blocked eight shots.
Duke 85, Florida State 77: Tricia Liston scored 25 points, and Elizabeth Williams had 20 as the No. 3 Blue Devils (19-1, 6-0 ACC) needed overtime to beat the No. 24 Seminoles (14-5, 2-4).
Virginia 86, Maryland 72: Kelsey Wolfe scored 24 points as the Cavaliers (10-9, 3-3 ACC) ended the No. 6 Terrapins' (16-2, 4-1) 14-game win streak.
