Jayme Hughes, Mountain View basketball: In perhaps the most dramatic moment of the week, Hughes made a 30-foot shot at the buzzer to give the Spartans a 55-54 victory over Palo Alto. She finished with 21 points.
Maeve Kavanagh, Presentation basketball: In her team's 52-50 victory over Archbishop Mitty, Kavanagh led Presentation in scoring with 14 points.
Cole Lockwood, Santa Clara basketball: The senior scored 27 points to propel the Bruins past Cupertino 71-52.
Nick Loew, Burlingame basketball: The senior post player combined for 36 points and 34 rebounds as the Panthers won a pair of PAL South games against Aragon and San Mateo.
Danny Mahoney, Serra basketball: The senior guard had 23 points to help the Padres to a 73-66 win in overtime over Sacred Heart Cathedral. He also had 21 points in a 70-64 win at St. Ignatius.
Jesus Mendoza, Woodside soccer: Mendoza had a goal and an assist in a 4-0 win over Burlingame and also had a goal in a 2-0 victory over Half Moon Bay.
Gary Miltenberger, Fremont wrestling: He won the 287-pound division at the Mid Cals in Gilroy with a 3-1 victory over Archbishop Mitty's Daniel Mendoza in the final.
Isaiah Palomino, Bellarmine College Prep wrestling: He took first in the 122-pound class at the Mid Cals, beating Gilroy's Jesse Vasquez 5-1 in the final.
Marcus Tran, Yerba Buena basketball: Tran, who averages 20.5 points per game, had 38 points to lead Yerba Buena to a 70-67 victory over Branham.
Brittney Vela, Branham soccer: She continued her torrid pace, scoring two goals in a 3-1 win over Live Oak and a goal -- her 16th this season -- in a 1-1 tie against Willow Glen.
Jase Wickliffe, Wilcox basketball: He scored 18 points to help Wilcox defeat Santa Clara 64-60 and scored 19 in 76-54 win over Lynbrook.
