Jalen James rebounded his own blocked shot and scored with one second left Tuesday night to give San Jose State a 66-64 victory over Nevada in Reno for its first Mountain West Conference win.

The Spartans had lost their first 13 games in their initial season in the conference and had lost 27 consecutive conference games dating to last season, when they were in the Western Athletic Conference.

Nevada tied the score at 64 on two free throws by Deonte Burton with 10 seconds left. James attempted a shot with three seconds left that was blocked by AJ West, but James was able to grab the rebound and score on the putback. It was James' only offensive rebound of the game.

Isaac Thornton led San Jose State (7-19, 1-13) with 15 points. Jaleel Williams scored 12, and Rashad Muhammad had 11 off the bench.

Burton and Cole Huff each scored 14 points for the Wolfpack (12-15, 7-7).

The Spartans' next game is Tuesday at conference leader San Diego State, which is ranked No. 6 in the nation.

Kansas 64, Texas Tech 63: Andrew Wiggins' layup with two seconds left lifted the No. 8 Jayhawks (20-6, 11-2 Big 12) over the Red Raiders (13-13, 5-8) in Lubbock, Texas.

Wiggins finished with 19 points and Joel Embiid added 18 to help the Jayhawks reach 20 wins for the 25th consecutive season and 11 conference victories for the 20th straight year.

Texas Tech's Robert Turner sank two free throws with 16 seconds left to put the Red Raiders up 63-62.

Villanova 82, Providence 79: Ryan Arcidiacono had a three-point play with 3.6 seconds left in the second overtime to boost the No. 9 Wildcats (23-3, 11-2 Big East) past the Friars (17-10, 7-7) in Providence, R.I.

Arcidiacono scored 21 points and JayVaughn Pinkston had 20 for Villanova. Bryce Cotton led Providence with 22 points, and Kadeem Batts had 21 points and 11 rebounds.

Duke 68, Georgia Tech 51: Jabari Parker had 16 points and 14 rebounds, and the No. 5 Blue Devils (21-5, 10-3 Atlantic Coast Conference) routed the Yellow Jackets (13-13, 4-9) in Atlanta.

San Diego State 60, Utah State 45: Matt Shrigley scored 15 points to lead the No. 6 Aztecs (23-2, 12-1 Mountain West) past the Aggies (15-11, 5-9) in San Diego.

Louisville 80, South Florida 54: Russ Smith scored 19 points, and the No. 11 Cardinals (22-4, 11-2 American Athletic Conference) cruised past the Bulls (12-15, 3-11) in Louisville, Ky.

Virginia 57, Virginia Tech 53: Justin Anderson and Joe Harris made consecutive 3-pointers to cap a rally from an 11-point, second-half deficit, and the No. 14 Cavaliers 22-5, 13-1 ACC) beat the Hokies (9-16, 2-11) in Blacksburg, Va.

Virginia matched its best start in ACC play since the 1980-81 team was also 13-1.

Iowa State 85, Texas 76: Melvin Ejim scored 25 points and DeAndre Kane added 22 to help the No. 17 Cyclones (20-5, 8-5 Big 12) defeat the No. 19 Longhorns (20-6, 9-4) in Ames, Iowa.

Kentucky 84, Mississippi 70: Julius Randle had 25 points and 13 rebounds, and the No. 18 Wildcats (20-6, 10-3 Southeastern Conference) beat the Rebels (16-10, 7-6) in Oxford, Miss.

Iowa-Indiana postponed: The scheduled game in Bloomington, Ind., was postponed after an 8-foot long, 50-pound piece of metal inside Assembly Hall fell from the ceiling into some empty seats six hours before game time. No makeup date was announced.

Nebraska coach returns: Women's coach Connie Yori, who collapsed during a game over the weekend, said her health is fine and she is planning to be at Ohio State for Thursday night's game.

Yori, 50, said she has been on medication for a bacterial infection for a couple of weeks and was dehydrated when she passed out in front of the Cornhuskers' bench in the second half of Sunday's game against Indiana.
