SAN JOSE -- San Jose State will open the Mountain West football season this fall with a pair of home games and close with two tough ones on the road according to the schedule that was released by the conference Thursday.

The Spartans begin conference play Sept. 27 with a home game against Nevada and host UNLV the following week. The seasons caps with a Nov. 22 game at defending Mountain Division champion Utah State and a Nov. 29 game at San Diego State.

In between, SJSU has a bye before traveling to Wyoming on Oct. 18. Their toughest travel portion of the year continues with a nonconference game at Navy on Oct. 25.

The Spartans return home to meet Colorado State on Nov. 1 and look to continue a three-game winning streak against the Rams. They'll face rival Fresno State, the defending MW champions, on the road Nov. 8. SJSU's last of its five home games on the season comes Nov. 15 vs. Hawaii.

The season begins with three nonconference games, the dates of which had already been announced. The Spartans host North Dakota of the Football Championship Subdivision on Aug. 30 and face BCS runner-up Auburn on the road on Sept. 6. After a bye, SJSU travels to Minnesota for a second straight year to play the Golden Gophers on Sept. 20.

Times have not been determined for any of the games and some dates could be subject to change when the television broadcast schedule is announced. That's expected to happen in April.
