Cal football practices still will be open to the public this spring, just not all of them.

The Bears begin spring workouts Monday with the first of six practices scheduled to be open to fans, capped by the spring game on April 26. Monday's first workout runs from 3:30 to 6 p.m. Other open practices will be Saturday, April 5 (11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.), Wednesday, April 9 (3:30 to 6 p.m.), Saturday, April 12 (10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.) and Friday, April 18 (3:30 to 6 p.m.).

Rookie quarterback Nathan Stanley was named the AFL Offensive Player of the Week. In his first career AFL start, Stanley threw six touchdowns and rushed for another in a 70-33 win over the Philadelphia Soul.

College golf

San Jose State's Kathleen Rojas shot a team-best 75 in the second round and is tied for 11th after two rounds of the Anuenue Spring Break Classic women's golf tournament, played at The Bay Course in Kapalua, Maui. San Jose State ended the day in fifth place at 603.

  • San Jose State's Cody Blick shot a 2-under-70 to tie for low round of the day and SJSU men moved from 16th place to a tie for 11th on the final day of the 2014 Duck Invitational on the Emerald Valley Golf Course in Creswell, Ore. Blick finished 10th overall.

  • The Santa Clara men finished eighth at the Duck Invitational. Tyler Kertson shot an even-par 72 in the final round. Santa Clara's five players all ended within six shots of each other with Kertson the team's top individual finisher for a third time this year, finishing 30th.

    The Stanford-Saint Mary's baseball game at SMC's Louis Guisto Field was postponed because of rain. A makeup date is to be determined.
