The San Jose Giants scored two runs in the top of the first inning, but those were the only runs they got Tuesday in a 4-2 loss to the Lancaster JetHawks.
Mitch Defino (2 for 5) and Ben Turner drove in the Giants runs, but San Jose fell to the JetHawks for the second straight game. The Giants sustained a walk-off loss to Lancaster on Monday.
The Stanford baseball team (12-14) rallied for three runs in the bottom of the eighth inning to get by UC Davis 7-6.
Dominic Jose powered the Cardinal comeback with a two-out double to score Wayne Taylor and Zach Hoffpauir. Pinch hitter Brant Whiting singled to plate Jose with the eventual game-winning run. The Aggies were retired in order in the top of the ninth.
Sam Lindquist got the win in relief, going the game's final 21/3 innings.
Wilson made the final cut for the award along with Brandon Hagy and Joel Stalter of Cal, Northwestern's Jack Perry and Alabama's Cory Whitsett.
Candidates for the Nelson Award must be a graduating senior, and the selection committee considers a nominee's collegiate academic and golf career as well as his character and integrity in college.
The recipient of the Nelson Award will be named May 1.
Freman shot a 3-under 69 on the final 18 holes. The Broncos (290 on Tuesday) finished with a three-round total of 896, nine shots behind winner New Mexico State.
It was the Broncos' fifth top-five finish this season.
