SAN JOSE -- Earthquakes starting defender Brandon Barklage is questionable for Saturday's game at Colorado after suffering a thigh contusion last weekend, coach Mark Watson said.
The latest injury to the backline leaves Watson with a decision on how to line up against the second-place Rapids. The coach declined Wednesday to say what he will do.
"Brandon's still really sore," Watson said of the player brought in to replace departed right back Steven Beitashour.
Barklage, 27, suffered a thigh contusion early in the second half Sunday against Columbus. It was his third leg injury with the Quakes this year.
"It's really unfortunate for Brandon because he was just starting to get fit," Watson said. "He's got a bull's eye on him."
