Floyd Mayweather Jr. announced on his social media accounts that he'll fight a rematch against Marcos Maidana on Sept. 13 in Las Vegas.
Mayweather (46-0, 26 knockouts) won a majority decision over Maidana (35-3) on May 3. One judge scored 114-114, while the other two gave the welterweight champion 116-112 and 117-111 edges.
The fight will be broadcast by Showtime on a pay-per-view basis.
Serena Williams won't play in the Swedish Open, which begins Monday in Bastad. She isn't fully recovered from the viral illness that forced her to retire from a Wimbledon doubles match with her sister Venus. "I am still not feeling 100 percent," Serena said in a statement. The sisters are both scheduled to play at the Bank of the West Classic, which starts July 28 at Stanford.
The bowl formerly known as the Buffalo Wild Wings Bowl will now be the Cactus Bowl. The bowl at Arizona State in Tempe on Jan. 2, 2015, will match the sixth selection from the Pac-12 against the fifth pick from the Big 12, after selections by the College Football Playoff.
