SaberCats update: San Jose got a couple of extra days between games this week after defeating the Tampa Bay Storm 52-43 last Friday at the SAP Center. Receiver Dominique Curry scored five touchdowns in the win and was named the Arena Football League's playmaker of the week. The Pacific Division champion SaberCats (12-4) are locked in as the No. 2 seed in the National Conference playoffs.

Soul update: Philadelphia (8-8) is in third place in the Eastern Division and tied with Tampa Bay (the South Division's No. 2 team) for the fourth seed in the American Conference. The Soul, which has the No. 2 scoring offense in the league at 59.1 points per game, will be challenged by San Jose's league-leading defense, which gives up 39.9 points. Derrick Ross is the league's workhorse running back, leading the AFL in attempts (132) and yards (417) by wide margins.
