A Jan. 17 home game against defending national champion Connecticut highlights the 2014-15 Stanford men's basketball schedule, which also includes a third trip to the Barclays Center in Brooklyn in two seasons and road games against DePaul, BYU and Texas.

It's a challenging nonconference road for the Cardinal, whose strength of schedule last season was a key to earning a bid to the NCAA tournament. Stanford took advantage of that opportunity, advancing to the Sweet 16 round after an upset of Kansas.

UConn's visit to Maples Pavilion follows Stanford's 53-51 win over the Huskies last season in Hartford, Connecticut. That snapped a 54-game, nonconference home win streak by UConn, dating back to 2007.

Stanford opens its season Nov. 14 at home against Wofford in the Coaches vs. Cancer Classic, then faces South Dakota two days later in the same event.

From there, the Cardinal will travel to Brooklyn to take on UNLV on Nov. 21 in the Coaches vs. Cancer semifinals. Stanford will play either Duke or Temple on Nov. 22.

The Cardinal's road odyssey also includes games at DePaul on Nov. 30, at BYU on Dec. 20 and at Texas on Dec. 23.

Stanford opens Pac-12 play Jan. 2 at home against either Washington or Washington State. Pairings of conference weekend matchups have yet to be announced.
