Like a dormant volcano, Mel Gibson's been notably quiet ... until last weekend.
Apparently Mt. Gibson had a mini-eruption Saturday in front of Malibu police (go figure), who pulled him over at a DUI checkpoint, according to TMZ.
Gibson reportedly wasn't drunk and didn't get arrested. He did, however, take exception to officers asking him to pull over to a screening spot, after he couldn't produce his driver's license.
Sources told the website that Gibson and a female passenger rolled up to the checkpoint on the Pacific Coast Highway -- the same road on which Gibson got his DUI in 2006 and went on a now-notorious rant against police -- just after 1 a.m.
Deputies reportedly asked Gibson if he'd been drinking. He said no. They asked to see his license. He didn't have it. And that's when the fun began.
Officers asked Gibson to pull over to the side of the road, which got Mt. Gibson rumbling. TMZ reported Gibson got angry and started yelling, "Why are you harassing me?" Deputies asked Gibson why he was yelling and he allegedly responded "I have had problems with you Lost Hills (Malibu) deputies in the past."
I'm pretty sure the cops aren't Mel Gibson's problem.
Everyone calmed down and Gibson drove away without a ticket or having to bellow about Jewish media conspiracies.
