Gandalf married Captain Picard.
Well ... sort of.
Patrick Stewart married singer-songwriter Sunny Ozell Monday on Sunday, with his good friend and stage and screen co-star Ian McKellen officiating the ceremony.
I bet someone at least one person there was wearing a sword.
"Sir Patrick Stewart and Sunny Ozell were married on Saturday afternoon, September 7, beside Lake Tahoe in front of approximately 100 guests, including family and friends," Stewart's rep told E! News. "The bride wore a white French lace dress by English designer, Temperley London.
The British star also happily shared the news on Twitter.
"Yes, married," Stewart tweeted, along with a photo of him and his new bride enjoying their first moments as newlyweds in a big pit full of colorful balls.
No, I don't know what the balls were all about.
McKellen shared the news on Facebook, posting a photo of him showing off his "Doctor of Divinity" certificate and a black shirt that says "Minister." He wrote, "I did my part."
"I'm going to marry Patrick," McKellen announced on the "Jonathan Ross Show" in March. Then he amended the announcement: "I am going to officiate at his wedding."
When asked about his qualification to preside, the "Lord of the Rings" star said "In Massachusetts -- we're in the middle of America somewhere -- you get anybody along, a friend, and I read out the words, and Sunny and Patrick will then be married. I declare you man and wife."
Stewart and Ozell have been together for five years. They met at the Brooklyn Academy of Music in 2008.
Stewart and McKellen are longtime friends and collaborators. The pair just finished co-starring at Berkeley Repertory Theatre's production of Harold Pinter's "No Man's Land," a production they will bring to Broadway later this year (in a double bill with "Waiting for Godot"). The pair are also co-stars in the "X-Men" film series.
