Is she or isn't she? Kelly Clarkson dodged a direct question about whether she is pregnant during a visit to "The Tonight Show" on Monday.

The newlywed singer told late-night host Jay Leno that she and husband Brandon Blackstock are having sex "like rabbits" in an attempt to have a baby. The first "American Idol" champion has previously said she wanted to be pregnant by Christmas.

Leno asked bluntly, "Are you pregnant right now?"

Clarkson laughed and asked, "What are you saying?"

Well, the question seemed pretty clear to us.

"I always get this stars that come and go, 'I'm thinking about having a baby,' and then the next week they go on Ellen and announce it there," Leno replied. "So, I'm asking you, are you pregnant? Remember, you are under oath."

Sure, that will get her talking.

Clarkson effectively dodged the question, while leaving the door open for that next-week revelation. "We are not announcing anything right now. We're not, no."

She also added, "I never wanted kids before, but now I want, like, five."

She and her music executive husband married in October in a small ceremony in Walland, Tenn. Blackstock has two children from a previous relationship.
