"The Sound of Music" (7 p.m., ABC): OK, Carrie Underwood has had her fun. Now it's time for Julie Andrews to show us how it's done. The beloved 1965 original film returns tonight, still possessing all the allure of raindrops on roses and whiskers on kittens. 7 p.m., ABC.
"Mr. Stink" (8 p.m., PBS): Talk about a major role reversal: Hugh Bonneville goes from playing the wealthy Earl of Grantham to a homeless tramp who hangs out in a local park. There, he is befriended by a lonely 12-year-old girl (Nell Tiger Free) with a sad home life.
"I Am Britney Jean" (8 p.m., E!): Fans won't want to miss this two-hour special that offers a peek at the preparations for Britney Spears' major stage show in Las Vegas. We can only hope that it's more electrifying than her stint as an "X Factor" judge.
