John Travolta said he's talked with at least one producer of James Bond movies about playing a Bond villain.

Travolta recently told U.K. publication The Telegraph his dream role is playing a villain in a James Bond film.

"I would love that," Travolta said. "They're going a different way with their villain in the next film but I've spoken to Barbara Broccoli about it and she loves the idea, so that would be great."

They could call it "Bond versus Vinnie Barbarino."

Broccoli is a film producer responsible for the last three Bond films -- "Skyfall," "Quantum of Solace" and "Casino Royal" -- starring Daniel Craig as 007. Whether Travolta's discussions with Broccoli were legitimate remains to be seen.

Travolta has done bad guys in films like "Swordfish," "The Punisher" and "Face/Off." He is also supposed to play a tough guy in a few upcoming films, including playing John Gotti in a biopic.

Travolta told the Telegraph he would not "close the chapter on playing villains" until he hits the highest level with a Bond film.
