Zac Efron's friends are "worried sick" that the actor is back on drugs, according to TMZ.

The "High School Musical" star and his bodyguard were recently involved in a midnight brawl with some transients in the Skid Row area of Los Angeles. No one was arrested, though Efron told police they ran out of gas and were in the area to get sushi.

Sounds perfectly reasonable to me that an addict with lots of money would go to a bad part of a large city after midnight to buy uncooked fish. Am I right?

TMZ quoted one of Efron's friends saying, "Zac's a loner. He goes out rarely and the idea of him driving for miles to go to some sushi restaurant in downtown L.A. after midnight is preposterous."

Come on, now ... nobody actually says "preposterous." Unless they're, like, English or something.

TMZ reported several of Efron's friends said the so-called "bodyguard" involved in the reported incident is not a bodyguard at all -- he's really a convicted drug dealer who has spent a lot of time with Efron recently.

Huh ... kind of a coincidence, isn't it ... one guy is a drug addict, while the other guy is a drug dealer. Small world.

Friends of Efron told TMZ the stories of Efron going to rehab twice aren't true. Both times he supposedly went to a friend's house outside California and received private therapy.

Preposterous?

TMZ also reported that, despite the "bodyguard" telling the website he was stabbed multiple times by the transients, law enforcement sources said the only one bleeding was Efron, after being hit in the face.
